I had not dealt with a loan company for over 35 so I wasn't really sure what to expect. Well, I was very pleasantly surprised when I worked with John Craig at CTC Mortgage Company. He made the entire process so painless. After providing Mr. Craig with some basic information, he used this information to complete our loan application for us. He always promptly replied to all my emails (even when I sent them after hours or on the weekend because I knew if I waited for a work day I would forget. I didn't really want to bother him or expect him to answer until the next working day, but he always responded right away). He provided me with very thorough emails detailing exactly what the company would need to approve our loan. This made it so easy to gather the required documents. Mr. Craig kept me informed during all the steps of the process. We sold our house before our new house was ready so we reduced our requested loan amount. We also moved our closing date up by a couple of weeks. None of these changes caused any delays or problems. Mr. Craig worked to make things happen the way we needed them to. I shopped for a mortgage with 5 highly rated Mortgage Companies. I received their proposals and completed a line-by-line cost comparison. While three the loan offers were identical for the interest rate of 2.250% the cost to get the 2.250% (Paying Points) from each lender were different. Each lender was charging a different Point Purchase Fee to guarantee the 2.250% rate. I eliminated one of the lenders due to their Point Purchase Fees being very expensive. I took the two remaining lenders' proposals and meet with my accountant to review. We selected CTC Mortgage because they had the best mortgage offer and incentive program. I would absolutely recommend CTC Mortgage to anyone considering purchasing a new home. They were very easy to work with and keep me informed on the loan status. The most important thing a barrower can do is shop several mortgage lenders and compare offers. CTC Mortgage although not as well-known as some of the larger lenders they had the best proposal of the 5 lenders I contacted.
